The cattle guard wing posts support the powder-coated steel triangular sections, known as cattle guard wings, keeping them upright to prevent livestock from bypassing the barrier by walking around the fence line to the grid connection. The posts are sold in pairs and are built to support the cattle guard wings.
These posts are designed to hold the matching wings in an upright position to provide a physical obstruction and prevent cows from stepping around the end of the fencing where it meets the crossing. Below is a picture of an installed wing and post assembly attached to a cattle guard to prevent animals from walking around the crossing. Each post weighs approximately 35 pounds, and they're designed for the flat top pipe cattle guards.
