Tall Ranch Gates

When height matters, this extra-tall 62-inch gate is your go-to entryway.
These unique seven-bar gates are perfect for situations where the traditional 50-inch height just isn’t enough. Horses, bulls, and other large livestock benefit from the added safety and security that a taller gate provides. It also offers a clean, professional look when matched with a higher fence line.

Built with the same high-quality 16-gauge steel used in the shorter models, the 2-inch tube frame, combined with the exceptionally strong one-piece center vertical Z-bar, creates a durable and rigid structure capable of withstanding pressure from even the most rambunctious animals.

This gate includes a T-latch locking system and chain for quick, secure operation. Finished with a prairie gold powder coating, it’s built to last and designed to create a safe, efficient working environment for both you and your livestock.

Tall Farm Gate Dimensions

This very tall and extremely heavy-duty gate is available in even lengths from 4 feet long all the way up to the extremely long 18-foot length. The heavy-duty construction adds considerable weight to these highly desired and very tall ranch gates.

The shortest is the 4-foot gate that weighs in at 63 pounds, while the very long 18-foot gate weighs almost an even 200 pounds. The extra height, horizontal bar, and high quality make these gates a bit on the heavy side.

When choosing your hinges, be sure to select the 2-inch clamp for a strong and secure connection so you may open and close the gate with ease. View all of our gate hinges and accessories by clicking here

Sioux Steel gate review video text

Sioux Steel is a famous company; it's been around since 1918, family-owned and operated, and here's what made us famous: our gates. Starting off here is a medium-duty gate; it's an 18-gauge red Guardian gate. It's not too high-priced, not too cheap, perfect for medium use, and you can see it's powder-coated. All of our dates feature powder coating, which literally bakes it and protects it for the lifetime of the gate.

Moving on, here is one of our least expensive gates. This is the Maverick brand. The Maverick gates are 20 gauge, powder-coated again, and they are made for light duty. Very inexpensive again, but high quality as well. Here is definitely are gold-medal winner of the Sioux Steel gates. This is the gate that made us famous. As you travel across the United States, you will see these gold gates. This is a 7 x 1.

In feedlots, you will see the victory line in heavy crowding areas, and it features the Z bar uprights right here, and of course, powder-coated, 16-gauge, 50,000 PSI high tensile steel. This gate is as good as they come; they are the very best on the market and reasonably priced. Folks, we just cannot say enough about the victory line of gates from the Sioux Steel company.

Input is a big part of the Sioux Steel company. We listen to our dealers and our customers and to what they want, and we try to accommodate them. And that is exactly how the high country line came about. You can see a high country panel here. These are very popular in rugged areas, Wyoming, Colorado, Western Nebraska, West River South Dakota.

The unique feature of this is a panel right here. Everything is hand-welded; these are notched up rights. They literally take to being an and weld each piece to make them super strong. Once again, 16-gauge tubing, powder-coated, and you can see that each day, with the very famous collar hinge. Ranchers really like this type of hinge; it really adds to the usability of the gate. These things here are definitely super heavy-duty and built to take any type of crowding situation. We are talking about 2000-pound bulls for feedlot usage; these are perfect for any of your heavy-duty usage areas. The high country gate is definitely a big seller!

Below is the text from Tom's Victory Gate Testimonial

I've tried several gates initially, and when we found out about the Sioux Victory Gate with the seven bars, it met our needs for our Buffalo operation. We needed to consider the height of this gate, as we like to see the height that we have here with the Sioux Gates, and we don't find that with other manufacturers.

The strength of the new hinges has been great for us; it has to be stout for the Bison. One thing is for the height to be a deterrent from them even trying it, and between the height and if they do hit it, it's strong enough that it withstands any abuse from them. For our use, it's held up really good and we put in quite a number of them - over several hundred over the last 14 years, and they've held up really good for us. Well, I think just the design of the seven-tube option was probably a critical thing, and the strength of the gate is critical too. When they (Sioux Steel) went to the bigger hinge, the improved hinge on it was really just icing on the cake, and it really made a difference.

Life-time Warranties: That's really a refreshing bit of evidence or information because that is the kind of like saying it's a no-brainer, really. If you install it, it works, and we've got that back up with the warranty, and that's important to us. We get together with a lot of bison people throughout the country, and we have turn-and-learn sessions, and new people get involved with the business. We try to bring them up to speed with knowledge. People just share information, especially with newcomers, you know, and questions like what kind of gates do you use, and what kind of wire, etc. We talk to them about the gates, the hinges, and the heights, so they learn quickly from other people, so that we don't have to go to reinvent the wheel, so to speak.

He (the Sioux Steel representative) wasn't just the salesperson you know; he was excited, and they brought the first load of gates, and they were part of it when the first bison arrived. They were there on the spot, so there wasn't it wasn't just about selling an item today; they enjoyed the spirit, the momentum, and the excitement of the first trucks bringing the first bison to the ranch. Ernie (the representative) was there with his family. I also think it's a way of life for both him and us, each individual is doing their own thing, but actually supporting each other. What really counts is the support. We needed gates, and if he didn't have enough on hand, he says Tom, we'll make another trip and he did so right away. He was very supportive, and I think that's the thing that we enjoyed so much.
